The Government of Maharashtra has amended the Maharashtra Shops and Establishment Rules, 1961, as per a notification dated January 3, 2012. A new rule -Rule 20 B - has been inserted making it mandatory for all employers to display on their notice board a notice that states, “No child labourers are engaged.” The words and letters on this notice should be in DVB-TT Surekh Font, written in navy blue on a lemon yellow background.
The newly added Rule 22 prescribes the submission of statements, application for registration, renewal of registration certificate, application for exemption, notices or any other application or documents and fees electronically. The electronic transaction charges employers have to pay for availing these e-services are prescribed in Rule 23 and detailed below.

Consequent to these changes, Form A (under rule 5) has been substituted with a new Form A, Form AA, to be submitted electronically.
In addition, the Form B Application under Section 7(2A) (See rule 5) has been substituted with a new Form B, to be submitted electronically.
